About Calm

Calm is a tool that has been designed to assist in reducing anxiety, stress and worries, and to increase an individual's overall mindfulness through various meditation sessions. Meditations are available on a variety of topics such as sleep and happiness and over different time intervals to suit the focus and needs of the user.

Calm includes a number of additional features such as breathing exercises, sleep stories and the ability to track your progress, which outlines how many days the user has completed meditations and total hours they have meditated.

Likes

  • Extremely clear and intuitive to use.

  • The app lags and is slow to respond.
  • The subscription service required to unlock other guided meditations could be a barrier to young people.

  • Follow this with a short demonstration on how the app functions before getting them to download it themselves.

  • It's very clear and concise, which is great if you're having a panic attack and needed to breathe in time to a relaxing and soothing animation.
  • It's a fantastic app to use with young people, especially those who are new to meditation.
  • It uses meditation across a whole range of different aspects that someone might be struggling with which makes it way more engaging.
