Get your school involved in R U OK? Day

R U OK? Day is a day dedicated to inspiring and empowering everyone to meaningfully connect with people around them by asking the simple question “Are you OK?” With classroom toolboxes, fun activities and Conversation Corners, R U OK? makes it easier for students to ask “Are you OK?” and support someone in the event that they are struggling.

Ways your whole-school community can get involved:

  • Promote R U OK? Day to your school community through your newsletter and social media channels.
  • Inform and support students and parents by circulating ReachOut.com fact sheets.
  • Utilise the R U OK? Day Schools resources in your school.
  • Set up a Conversation Corner to provide a physical space for conversations.

Classroom Toolboxes

The R U OK? Day team have created classroom toolboxes for high school students that will help to inspire conversation in both the classroom and the playground. Download either the Years 7-8 Classroom Toolbox or Years 9-12 Classroom Toolbox to find four lesson plans that will help students ride the highs and lows of school life.

Conversation Corners

In previous years the R U OK? Day Conversation Corners have provided school students a dedicated space to have meaningful conversations. You can either order an R U OK? bench or convert an existing bench into a space where students are encouraged to chat.
